GC600

Gold Coast 600 has to be one of my favourite street tracks I’ve ever raced! On the Friday I qualified 22nd out of 29! So happy with this result as I was the fastest girl on track and had heaps of speed which made me more confident for the first race.
Race 1 starting out of 22nd position. It was very challenging and I was quite nervous as I was hitting high speeds of 195km/hr with cement walls around me. I pushed my elf up into 20th position but then clipped the tyre wall which then snapped the right control arm and put out my steering for the rest of the race but still finished 24th.
Race 2 would have had to of been the toughest race as it was pouring down rain, with no vision around the track at all. starting 24th It felt like the longest race ever! with just 3 laps to go going down the straight I clipped another competitors rear end which popped my right tyre and snapped another control arm, struggled to finish the race as I didn’t have much steering but ended up finishing 20th under safety car.
Race 3 was a lot calmer than race 2 as the rain had quietened down a lot more. Had a lot more vision and control of the car. starting out of 20th position I managed to move up into 16th place! Which I was super happy with!
The very last race, Race 4 I started 20th place as that’s where I was sitting with overall points. It was a brand new sunny day. I was determined to push myself forward as I felt way more confident on the track after driving in very wet conditions in race 2 & 3. Passing through cars battling with other competitors and picking up as many positions as I could. I finished 14th!
Overall for the round I finished 17th out of 29. Surfers Paradise circuit was such a challenging and tough track with tight corners and the chicanes and long straight but is by far the best weekend of racing. Knowing what and how I can push myself and how determined I was to finish every race.
Round 7 is only 3 weeks away which is a brand new street circuit that no one has ever raced in Newcastle! And Aussie cars will be the first to go around, which is a one In a life time opportunity! Bring it on!
